Care instructions

Every Yousi piece tells a story…

A little wine here, a sauce splash there. These are the marks of meals shared and memories made.

While we’ve shared some simple tips to help care for your Yousi pieces, we hope you’ll see each mark as part of your table’s history, a reminder of the moments worth savouring.

Designed to be used often and loved for years to come, every Yousi piece is made to become part of your stories. With a little care, it will grow softer and more beautiful with every gathering.

Tablecloth Care

General care instructions

  • Machine wash cold with like colours.
  • Use a gentle detergent. Do not bleach or use whitening agents.
  • Line dry in the shade to help preserve colour and maintain fabric shape.
  • If tumble drying, use a low heat setting, however line drying is recommended to extend the life of the fabric.
  • Warm iron on the reverse while slightly damp for best results.

Tea Towel & Napkin Care

Before your first wash

Our tea towels and napkins are digitally pigment printed to beautifully showcase the artwork. Before washing for the first time, fully unfold your product. This helps preserve the vibrancy of the print and minimise visible fold lines created during packaging.

General care instructions

  • Machine wash cold with like colours.
  • Use a gentle detergent. Do not bleach or use whitening agents.
  • Line dry in the shade with the printed side facing down to help preserve colour.
  • Warm iron on the reverse if needed.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which may gradually fade the print over time.

Caring for Stains

Spills happen, and honestly, they often mark the best moments around a table. While a little evidence of good food and great company can be a beautiful thing, here’s how to care for your Yousi pieces so they’re ready for many more gatherings to come.

1. Act quickly

Gently blot (never rub) with a clean, dry cloth or paper towel to lift as much liquid as possible.

2. Cold water is your friend

If you can, run the stained area under cold water from the back of the fabric. This helps push the stain out, rather than further into the fibres.

3. A gentle touch

For food, wine or oil marks, work a small amount of mild liquid detergent or diluted dish soap into the stain using your fingertips or a soft cloth.

4. Soak if needed

For stubborn stains, soak the affected area in cold water with a teaspoon of gentle detergent for 15-30 minutes.

5. Rinse well

Ensure all detergent is rinsed away, as residue can leave marks over time.

6. Let it breathe

Air dry before checking the stain. Avoid tumble drying until you’re confident it’s gone, as heat can set stains permanently.

Common Stains

Red wine
Blot immediately, sprinkle with salt or bicarbonate of soda to absorb excess liquid, then rinse and follow the care steps above.

Oil or grease
Blot first, gently work in a small amount of dish soap, then rinse with warm water before laundering.

Tomato-based sauces
Rinse immediately in cold water, pretreat with a gentle detergent, then wash promptly.

A final thought…

Some marks fade, some stay, and that’s okay.

The best tables aren’t perfectly pristine. They’re the ones that have hosted birthdays, long lunches, quiet dinners and celebrations. We hope your Yousi pieces become part of those stories for years to come.
